HUGE game tonight.

GO Other team GO!

So accroding to the guys on BarnBurner Conroy should be able to make a trade so that they can grab both Tij and a Center or Dmen in the top ten.

Probably trade Marky for a 1st... maybe.

Also, reports are leaked Yotes are going to Utah, with that said also reports of reallignment possibly Flames and Oilers heading to the Central. Thought?

They weren't having a serious conversation. It was more just throwing things out and what Conroy should try and do and not so much what he should be able to do.

Ok. I’m mistaken but I thought it was resign Hanifin cause we’ll never get a player as good as him with what he brings back?
- K-man25

Well yeah, but there's a major difference between what I think the Flames should do to rebuild and what I think the Flames should do if they're refusing to rebuild.

Signing Hanifin did kind of fit with both, especially if the 2026 pick doesn't turn into much.

Not sure any non playoff team gives up this years 1st, probably 2025 picks
Flames will win the lottery and get their 1st ever 1st over all.

I don't think it's that far fetched. There are a bunch of teams drafting around them that want to win now. Vancouver's first + Markstrom, Sharangovich, Kuzmenko, or even Zary, Pelletier, or Coronato could get them another high pick this year. Buffalo probably has the best group of prospects in the league. Anaheim and Montreal don't really need more young defensemen. Ottawa has wanted to win for years. All of those picks are potentially available.

So Buffalo is gonna give up on UPL, who had better stats than Marky this year, and give up an asset for it, while having Devin Levi as a prospect ranked at about the same level as Wolf for what reason? Ott just signed Korpisalo and attached a M-NMC to move him this soon after to add cap space for a guy with a NMC and give up some strong assets, Anaheim already has a high priced G in Gibson and 2 well regarded prospects during a rebuild, and Montreal just sold a guy for pennies to take on Marky... Sure makes sense.

Teams nearly close to contention he might be OK with... TOR, WAS, DET? Not going to EDM, he already rejected that once. NJD found a guy for a year. PIT, MIN, COL, or LAK? Good luck pulling a premium return.

What a disaster of a hockey game. The Flames have to ruin everything. They're going to end up picking 12th.

In the 9 games since Kuzmenko has been put on Kadri’s lines he’s scored the most goals in the NHL, excluding Mathews and Stamkos.
Suck it Vancouver!

They both have been lighting it up. Even Pospisil has benefited

Kadri needs to be benched. He's clearly trying to sabotage the future of the team before he demands a trade in the off-season. He's not playing like a guy who knows he's stuck in Calgary for another five seasons.

Ya, 2 more years with full NMC. then 3 years with a 13 team NTC. Shouldn't be hard to trade this year if they ask him to. Once into the 3 year 13 team might be more difficult with his age at the time. For now, I'm guessing many teams would take his contract on with a little retention for a tolerable return. Probably not as much as Flames fans would expect, but tolerable coming from other teams fans perspectives.

Come witness Marwoods 'transition' from #teamwhiner to #teamslurper in the Nucks thread. Now THAT is impressive...

I can't see Kadri wanting to stick around. He has upped his value with his play this year, but I cannot see Edwards retaining anything.

Cheap SOB

Sounds like there was a pretty good return for Markstrom in the books that got squashed because Edwards would not retain for 2 years.

Conroy is looking pretty good so far with the returns for Toffoli and Lindholm.

We will know more about Miromanov next season. But for a tea looking to stealth tank he seems like a good return.

Start him, Kuzmenko and Pospisil next year, if they play like they are this year, you’ll have interest for him.
