Yeah but no D that can do what he does. If he generates more than he gives away I would keep him in the NHL.

My philosophy is that you learn quicker playing agaisnt better opposition surrounded by better teamates with better coachs.

I would only send him down if he's over-exposed and finishing every game -2,-3

- Fredo

too many players though...some will go down to Laval

Barron (must clear waiver)
Reinbacher (no waiver)
Mailloux (no waiver)
Savard
Kovacevic

Hutson (no waiver)
Struble (no waiver)
Harris (must clear waiver)
Xhekaj (not sure if he will need waiver or not)
Matheson
Ghule
Engstrom (no waiver)

Fun fact, Mailloux being recalled makes me win a 20$ bet I had with a friend that Mailloux would play at least 1 NHL game this season.

I agree with you, but he might be sent down to begin the year regardless because of how many LHD we have.

But if they are serious about making a push for the playoffs next year, he'll be part of it at some point. Too much skill not to use him.

- Scabeh

Yeah there's a bottleneck there for sure.

I want to make a playoff push, but with the guys who will be part of the group once the team is at maturity.

We still have alot of guys in the lineup who I find have no chair, Harris, Barron ect.. not really offensive enough not that great on D or physical. Hutson has a chair and everybody knows what it is.

It might be beating a dead horse considering how much it's been said.

But it looks pretty obvious trading a LHD and other assets for some help up front is a move they'd like to make.

I would not be surprised if there are significant changes to the roster this summer, beyond letting the UFAs walk.

That and some lhd would have a hard time cracking the top 6 on a good nhl team.

Hutson should be able to crack that top 6 next year

Agreed. Hughes has always been very active with his assets with very good results. I expect more of the same.

The man hasn't made a single defensive mistake all season and this is how you treat him?

what's our core on D going forward...

RHD

Reinbacher
Mailloux

LHD

Ghule
Hutson

Savard has one year left, he will be traded this summer or mostly likely at the the TDL (not a lot of experience on the right side going into next season.

Matheson has 2yrs left on his deal, he will be around for one more year at least.

Harris and Struble showed progress, not sure if they are part of the plan long term but either one could be part of a package for a forward.

Xhekaj will need to camp ready to compete, his natural chair is on the 3rd pair but the left side is VERY crowded.

Engstrom will get signed shortly and will head to Laval for next season. He will be ready quickly IMO...I can see him being called up next season when there are injuries.

Barron, RFA this summer, no longer waiver exempt next season, big decision to make with him going forward. Not sure he has much value in a trade. He has great flashes of offense but he has great flashes of stupidity in his zone.

Kovasevic is safe IMO, perfect 6th or 7th D for the right side, cost minimum salary.

I say one of Harris or Struble gets packaged with Barron and a pick for a forward
