What do coaches get paid? Keefe is getting what? A shade under 2M?

Its nothing compared to the players. I think teams are happy with having the security with a coach that they know works with the team.

We haven’t even blamed the refs lol

Hard to blame the refs when your special teams are as awful as they've been this series.

No, that's WHY we need to blame the refs. A$$holes keep giving us PPs and killing our momentum

Shoot Boucher into the Sun.

It's nuts that Trappy McScarface can still get a NHL level coaching job.

Mathews day to day suffering from a bad mustache trim.

Thank goodness he doesn't play in Chicago eh - a video guy or trainer may force a moustache ride on him.

Every year is different.

This year brings a new set of undeniable and impossible barriers to overcome with issues to the top 3 forwards.

You pay the best players in the league to perform on the ice at any cost, and this playoff round doesn’t count as evidence against.

Go 2024-2025 leafs!

- Just5

maybe thats the problem. Dont get paid in playoffs.

I cant see them firing Keefe before his new contract even starts
what a mess

maybe they will. but I doubt it.

- senstroll

If they don't beat Boston, they'd better. He's the root of the problem.

How many times have you seen teams that are far less talented than this one play much better and more cohesive because the coaches have instilled it in the players? I know we say things like Liljegren, Benoit, Lyubushkin, Edmundson - how can you expect anything other than this result?

There's a certain truth to it, but the Penguins first cup was won with a defensive core led by 34 year old Gonchar, Rob Scuderi, Brooks Orpik, Hal Gill, Mark Eaton and 21 year old Kris Letang, who played very sheltered minutes in the playoffs. The goalie was Marc-Andre Fleury, who was the third worst goalie in those playoffs with a GSAx of -6.2. But they had Crosby and Malkin - and then 38 year old Guerin and what . . . Fedotenko? Kunitz who scored 1 goal?

At the end of the day this is a team that has hinged it's entire success on emulating that type of Penguins' model and the personnel they have here have failed completely up front. I do wonder why this team with ever changing personnel up front - larger guys, historically good playoff guys, tougher guys - and so on - all keep failing to produce results here.

If it isn't the coaching, then it's rooted and they'll need to salt the Earth.

Tre has not signed any bad contracts.

Gave up just mid round picks at the TDL.

And in his 1st year saw him having his 2 best players get fluke injuries and illness to keep them both out multiple games in round 1.

Tre has done a fine job in his 1st year.

Treliving has to outlast Dubas' mistakes. If things play out the way we all expect them to I would hope that he would spend the offseason trying to make some significant changes.

Hindsight is always 20/20 but I appreciate what he came out with in Calgary when Gaudreau flew the coop and Tkachuk forced his way out. He deserves at least a couple of seasons' worth of time to right this ship.

Boudreau? The guy can't complete a coherent sentence.

Look at Vancouver when he was there to now. All that's changed in their core is Horvat out and Hronek in. There were lots of bottom-6 / bottom-4 changes like Soucy, Zadorov, Lafferty, Blueger and Suter, who was my favourite of the bunch. Without a coaching change and a message change, those changes are deck chair moves.

Yeah the coaching pool last offseason was pretty garbage, I understood keeping him around.

I like Keefe.

I could care less what happens to him, winning this series or not.

We can get mad at decisions but the next coach will make decisions we disagree with too.

- Santo_44

Ok. So we should never fire keefe cause fans will disagree with some of the next coaches decisions?
(Rolls eyes)

Keefe's expiry date has long past, his special teams are continually garbage, and seems to constantly get out coached.
Its time for a new voice, whether they win the series or not

I just don't care.

I don't think other coaches are much better or worse.

Its irrelevant to me I don't care who coaches this team as long as its not a dinosaur.

-Klingberg was bad
-Probably didnt do enough or aim high enough for better TDL players
-Dont care about excuses, every team has injuries.
-im more worried about him doing more damage the more he has time

cant take credit for this, but I think its accurate, Tre is just a more likable Jim benning
