I'm trying to gather as much information as possible while being bored out of my mind stuck in jury duty.

If any of you have gone through the process you probably understand my pain.

Blues rookie T.J. Oshie was scheduled to have an MRI today on his injured ankle. The results will obviously give the Blues a clearer indication of how long they expect to be without him.

The old saying “It takes two to tango" could not apply any better when discussing the Blues pursuit of Brendan Shanahan.

In order to seriously get the ball rolling Shanahan would first need to tell St. Louis he wants to come here and how much money he wants.

That hasn't happened.

St. Louis remains rather far down the list of teams that Shanahan is hoping to sign with. I have written for more than three months now about how he wants to keep his wife and kids in New York and therefore is looking to join a club that would allow him to commute rather easily.

I applaud St. Louis for at least exploring the possibility but in all likelihood they would probably need to overpay to get Shanahan in a Blues sweater.

Shanahan is not looking for the highest bidder though.

He wants to have a chance to win and wants to remain close to New York.

Bob McKenzie reported today that Shanahan is meeting with Flyers GM Paul Holmgren which makes plenty of sense considering the Flyers and Devils are his top choices outside of the Rangers.

If the Blues are looking to bring back a former star they should focus their energy on Chris Pronger who will become a UFA after next season (wink wink). It might take $10 mill X 3 years to make that happen.

Blues Clues!

GM Larry Pleau will be my guest on this weeks addition of Blues Buzz radio live from Johnny Mac's sporting goods located on Watson Road in Sunset Hills. The show is broadcast live and airs weekly on Team 1380 am from 6-7 pm..

Back to the jury room….

More to come,
