Peter Forsberg has had a significant setback in his effort to return to active hockey this season.
The player's chronically troubled right foot and ankle continues to plague him when he skates-- affecting both his balance and strength. As a result, he has
removed himself from Team Sweden's roster at the Karjala Cup in Finland.
In a live interview on Swedish television and reports that are now all over the Swedish print media, Forsberg said, "I felt almost immediately that this wasn't going to work. The foot still hurts too much, and it is the same reoccurring problem."
Asked if he thinks he'll be able to play competitive hockey this year, he said, " I don't think so. It’s not looking bright for the future."
