Jagr could be "trade of the year..."

As much as I know that the Penguins need a new building to play in to keep the band together, I for one will miss the building that is called the Mellon Arena, but will always be the Igloo to all of us who think of it. It has so much frigging character. It is the Fenway Park of the NHL right now with atmosphere and seats stuck here and there without a second thought for symetrics or asthetics.

You take a myriad of elevators and stairs as you ascend to a press box that sways like a cruise ship. "Yes the pressbox is moving," I told Jules...

It is also a building where old posters from eras gone by can be spotted on the events level, and along with this unique aura comes its share of ghosts. You can feel that.

One rumour that was told to me by more than a few folks is that Jagr is likely moving.

"I can't tell you how I know it, but I do," one source told me.

"Too much change in NY for Jags, no Nylander and with Straka hurt it isn't quite right." another added, " Jagr won't complain openly, but he will fade into the background. You will not get that extra something."

Another spoke of how Jagr would like to play his entire career with the same 18 guys.

"When he's comfortable he is one player. When he isn't, he is a another."

As I have said there is the Jagr from the Pens and the Jagr from the Caps. But what is interesting, and everyone pointed out, Jagr is not a complainer.

The question is where. He could go. That is my next quest for today....

As for the Penguins, watching them last night, I admire their creativity. Perhaps it's #87 that has infused the rest of the team with the belief that it is always acceptable to think outside the box. They simply try plays that other teams don't. And it's just not the superstars, but runs throughout the roster. They also put the puck on the net from every posible angle.

The Penguins will be ok. They are really are the essence of a team, meaning they are a single unit. last year that single unit was in its rookie season, caught everone by surprise, and started to hint toward an eventuality. This year that unit is in a sophomore slump, though their record is respectable. They sometimes forget the extra level that is needed at times to win games.

When all is said and done they will be downright scary.

Stay tuned.
