Quick note here, but the Hawks have announced they have signed defenseman Alex Vlasic to a 6-year contract that will carry a cap hit of $4.6 million. Vlasic was the breakout player for the Hawks this season and made his case to be considered a top-two defender on this team.
Inital thoughts from me: this could end up being an absolute steal of a deal if he continues to develop the way he did this season and they avoid having to renegotiate a contract at the same time as Bedard, Nazar, and Korchinski.
KD makes his first move into locking in the future core of this team and I have to say he passed with flying colors on this one. The days of overpay and everyone getting NMC are over and boy does it feel great.
