Rangers leading the many who want Boyle. Devils and Canucks talking? |

Just a quick hit this morning as I go in to chase some more rumours. I will have a Jokinen Update by 1pm, and hopefully something on Forsberg as well.
The Rangers are the team that most looks like they are going to make a big push for Dan Boyle. According to a source, "There are two teams, NY and Philly, to start, that are weighing out waiting for Forsberg or going hard after Dan Boyle."
Of course we can't talk about Tampa without expressing that there is a certain degree of decision making that depends highly on the ownership situation in Tampa. From what I have been told, the new owner would be more likely to sign Boyle than the previous one. A week ago it looked like "all bets were off" when it came to the new ownership group buying the team, now it looks like it is back on again. A week ago Boyle looked to be moving and now they are negotiating.
So we will see.
This past summer was often the summer of the "Rumoured Devils/Canucks Trade." Well the two teams are once again being linked by several of my sources. The only name so far that I am hearing between these notoriously secretive teams is that of Ohlund, but I doubt that he would waive his NTC do to his own family reasons....So prehaps, as one reader pointed out, Ohlund is a smokescreen. Smokescreens and the NJ Devils go hand and hand.
Of course sources are all in agreement that Vancouver needs to get some offensive help. It is possible that we could be getting the beginnings of the contingency plan should Vancouver miss out on Sundin.
Also check out the fan blog I just posted in reference to the Canadian Teams and the Trade Deadline. It is in the middle column.
