A source said to me that if this trade deadline were a friend of yours, you be worried about him. He would be irritated, unsure of his future, second guessing himself, trying to get out of a bad relationship, stuck in a dead-end job, moping around the house on the weekends, playing x-box....
Basically the NHL is a friend that really needs to get.........(well make your own joke)
Let's do a quick summary of the big boys...
Sundin: We may very well know today, but I will say this. NO MATTER what is said today, I think we have learned that there are only two closures in terms of Sundin: a trade or 3pm ET Tuesday. it has nothing to do with whether or not he will waive his NTC. He obviously will. His statements last night show that clearly. But this thing will go right up to very end. Anaheim, Detroit, San Jose, Montreal, and Ottawa are in on this.
Hossa: Chiarelli has come out and said that Kessel isn't moving. That is interesting. Hossa will go down to the wire as well and I am quite certain that Boston will still be in this. Montreal rumours continue to swirl, but as of now, nothing has been offered to make it happen.
It is entirely possible that Hossa is NOT dealt.
Jokinen: The Panthers want only young players and NO Money back for Jokinen. The teams involved are Minnesota, NJ, Vancouver, and my favorite in this: Montreal. If Brian Campbell does NOT re-sign I am told that the money there may be used for Jokinen. That will be an interesting twist
Richards: TSN apparently just reported what I reported that Richards is willing to go. I am hearing Vancouver may be way out in front of this one. However, Columbus is a team as well to look closely at. The Dallas Stars could enter this as could the Canadiens.
Forsberg: The Flyers, Sens, Wild, and Rangers are all in Peter, however I was told again today that a team may very well have already worked out a deal with Peter and that team may very well be Philadelphia.
Dan Boyle: I am told this is tied closely to Richards and he could be signed if Richards is moved or moved if Richards indeed stays.
Brian Campbell: Today looks like a big day for this one. I am completely split now as to which way this goes, but I still believe in the end Campbell will be signed and be back in Buffalo
Rob Blake: Tied to Sundin from what I can tell, basically the Ducks and Avalanche are leading the way here.
more to come this afternoon..I am going in to update the Rumour Chart now
