SABRES SHOULD MAKE A PLAY FOR BROOKS ORPIK |

Brooks Orpik has come a long way in a short period of time.
He's no longer known in NHL circles as "that guy who broke Eric Cole's neck".
The 26 year old Buffalo boy will be UFA on 7/1.
Orpik earned $1.075 million this seaon. He'll be looking for a bump to the 3 Large neighbourhood. Pay the man.
Darcy Regier better be at the front of the line for this banger!
Orpik is, to quote Rain Maieda of Our Lady Peace, a "one man army".
The guy can do it all: He loves to throw his body around with reckless abandon, he trades paint with all comers, he'll chuck the knuckles. He even contributes to your offense.
His 7 body blows in Game 3 at home vs. Detroit helped to kill the Wings' offensive flow in the Pens zone.
Orpik has grown up, and his stellar Dzone play in the '08 Playoffs and Stanley Cup Finals wioll no doubt make Orpik the object of a lot of GM's attention as the UFA market bell rings on July 1.
He plays 25 minutes a night, and he's Clint Eastwood tough.
Orpik would ably plug the hole that Jay McKee's departure created in Buffalo two seasons ago.
Whats more, Buffalo have a huge bargaining chip to lure Brooks home. His younger brother, Andrew, a Sabres draft choice, just won the Frozen Four alongside Nathan Gerbe at Boston College.
A friend who knows the Orpiks tells me that the Orpik boys would love to play together on the same NHL team.
