Is a Bouwmeester Trade Coming? Other trades as teams try to shore up?

Looking into a report from a source in Florida who couldn't tell me much but did tell me that a Bouwmeester trade "is so much closer than it was 24 hours ago."

When I pressed him as to where Jay Bo could be heading he told me the following...

"For now I can only alert you to the fact that the team that has put together what I consider a MASSIVE deal is in conference, but not division."

I am working on another blog for this afternoon that will list a few other trades rumours that are starting to surface, and of course Mats.

Teams I am looking into right now...Buffalo, LA, Vancouver, Montreal, Edmonton, Washington, Nashville, Dallas, Tampa...and of course the NY Rangers...

In case you missed it...

Many of you vacation from the web on weekends....(you lucky bastards) and have requested that I repost rumours from the weekend on Monday...

THIS ONE GOES OUT TO ALL OF YOU PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY "HAVE A LIFE!"

I talked to a source VERY close to the Gaborik situation and the fact is simple:

"Much debate about this next deal. Is it really almost 9M.... And even more outside offers."

The Penguins appear to be leading the push to a degree..at least they are the ones who are putting "a rather surprising" package together. The Sabres have been in this game for some time now....the Caps are new to it...but "aggressive."

Another team to look for with Gaborik is Vancouver...NOT THIS SEASON, but down the line. I don't see the Wild moving their star to the Canucks, but should Gabs become a UFA, the Canucks will be "hot, hot, hot" on him....As would the Oilers.

The Lightning have interest in a Preds D-man, and the Preds have interest in a few forwards on the Lightning as well...We have been talking about that for some time and this morning it is all over the papers in Nashville. I think this is the week when this deal will go down.

Mark Parrish has value and was placed on waivers this past week...It is completely possible that the once popular Islander could return to Uniondale, but I am also hearing that the Canucks are "highly likely" to look this way if Sundin looks elsewhere. The Canucks are going to be interesting on many levels if Sundin doesn't land there.

And speaking of Mats. Not much new to report so far today except for a friend who was talking to a team exec last evening who confirmed more and more that the Rangers "really want him."

I am telling you...the Rangers have a way. The rumours of them already putting a plan in place to move some big money can NOT be ignored.

More to come today.

Heading down to Margate with the Family and Burt the Dog....

A few quick hits that I will update as the day goes....

First a source tells me the following...

"The amount of offers coming to Florida for Bouwmeester are astounding. Truly amazing.. As many as 17 teams are said to have interest. My friend in the Panthers organization feels that there is a very strong chance that Jay will start elsewhere and the Panthers will in turn get a big kick start for this season."

Another source...

"The Rangers are talking MEGA trade deal with two teams. All I can think of is this has to be tied to the salary dump that could be coming if they land Sundin. The two teams I am hearing that they are talking to are Phoenix and Edmonton."

note...to my sources today...text message me on either line if you need to get me
