Update:

Selanne has signed a temporary deal and will participate in camp for the Ducks, while Schneider has decided not to show up and says that a move is imminent.

What an amazing day in the Northeast! This is the kind of day that answers the question, "Why doesn't everyone just live in a warm weather city?" This is the "change of seasons" at its best. A truly phenomenal breeze that breathes cool, clean life into you the second you step outside...

According to a source, shortly the Rangers will be naming Chris Drury as their new captain. Makes sense and happy to see this for Drury.

Meanwhile...in the midwest...

I was talking to some folks out in St. Louis, and there really is a growing curiosity as to why the Blues didn't lay claim to Schneider.

Given the fact the defense is populated with three guys who haven't even seen 90 NHL games, and they only have one true Power Play Point man in Erik Johnson (who is now hurt), coupled with the fact that the Blues have always told their fans that if the right player was available they would spend the money needed...Well it has some people under the big Arch a little confused.

If Phoenix needed Bryzgalov, then the Blues needed Schneider...Just my two cents.

More to come...happy Friday!
