I am growing very weary of this Brendan Shanahan situation.
This is beginning to feel a lot like ... dare I say ... the Foppa Follies! That's right. Waiting to hear if and when Peter Forsberg is going to play again. Which we went through last season and it wasn't very much fun, was it?
BTW: Foppa is still on the shelf these days and not in the picture for playing any time soon in the NHL.
But this Shanny Sleuthing is getting old. Make a decision, already and move on.
Shanny's agent, Rick Curran, is back in Philly. He tells me nothing is happening. But something will. The Flyers, like others involved, seemed confused. They thought a decision was coming last weekend. Silence.
One more thing. The New Jersey Devils need Shanahan a lot more than the Flyers do right now. Which means his value to the NJ should be much higher than to Philly. Which means a better contract. Of course, the Devils, like the Flyers, have cap issues, as well.
