Johan Franzen is definitely coming out of the shadows of the other superstars on the Big Red Machine in Detroit. He has an uncanny ability to slow the game down in his head and make moves that can sometimes only be thoroughly enjoyed in slow motion replays.

Franzen is very "Forsberg-esque" in this way and just a joy to watch. Here are several examples why this guy needs to be looked at in a different way. He is a superstar about to explode.

Rumour World

According to multiple sources the Oilers are looking hard at Max Afinogenov and Zherdev in NY. The Rangers likely would only move Zherdev if they win the Sundin sweeps, so this could be looked at as a sign that Sundin and the NY Rangers may be re-kindling discussions.

The Bruins and Leafs are both interested in Nathan Horton out of Florida. The Bruins have interest in Murphy out of Florida as well.

The Panthers are a team to look closely at right now. As a source told me yesterday at the game, "Jay Bouwmeester could EASILY be traded in the next two weeks to Ottawa, Minnesota or Pittsburgh."

Ever play the Kevin Bacon game?

I was just was going back and forth with a friend on facebook Casey Mckinnon (caseymckinnon.com...check it out, one talented woman) and the concept came up that it feels like almost all Canadians are no more than 4 or 5 degrees separated from an NHL player.

Her brother-in-law is a goalie coach for an NHL goalie...so she is three degrees separated...
