So, Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren walked into the dressing room looking rather glum.
Give us the M*A*S*H report I said.
"Who do you want to start with?" Holmgren replied. That was the first clue it was baaad.
From there, it quickly went farther downhill for the Flyers. Nine injuries, a couple bad one's, too. Eight forwards and one goalie.
Antero Niittymaki has a groin pull. Joffrey Lupul has an abdominal pull. Both went on Injured Reserve.
We all know what havoc abdominal pulls can cause. Simon Gagne in years past and Danny Briere this season.
We went through the list with Homer and then I remembered Jon Kalinski. Turns out, he's in the hospital. Had surgery on his left thigh.
Seemed the Flyers lacked a blood-sucking vampire to drain the welt on Kalinski's leg, so now he's bed-ridden with an open wound while the blood drains ...
This is how the Flyers go into tomorrow's game at Washington. At least, Gagne, is expected to play. For now, anyway. That game wraps up a 12-day, 6-game road trip.
