Holmgren Wants Foppa Back

Flyers' GM Paul Holmgren said today during a conference call that Danny Briere's surgery is similar to Mike Richards from 2006 - an adductor release of the muscles that connect the thigh and groin.

Holmgren had a funny less than testy back-and-forth with Sam Carchidi who wanted to know why Richards took 6 weeks to heal but Briere is only expected to miss 4 weeks.

Well, that's what Dr. William Meyers said it would take.

The most fascinating thing I found today was that Holmgren has inquired about Peter Forsberg ... yep, the Foppa Watch is about to begin ... again.

Will it ever end? One guy with a bad groin; one with two bad ankles and feet ... Why do the Flyers wish to punish themselves with Forsberg?
