THE LIGHTNING HAVE TRADED JUSSI JOKINEN TO CAROLINA FOR JOSEF MELICHAR, WADE BROOKBANK AND A 4TH ROUND PICK
Well....
It looks like this whole Rangers/Dallas Avery thing could be headed towards a reality. If it happens I really tip my hat to Larry Brooks who NAILED this a few days ago. I honestly couldn't see it happening. I don't know what to think.
On one hand, the last time the Rangers got Avery I wrote a story about how bringing the worst dressing room guy in the NHL into an already lousy dressing room would be an utter disaster. I was wrong. Somehow it worked.
So maybe it will again.
All things aside, Avery was a a force in NY. Last year his antics did play a part in the Devils being eliminated.
Ok...so I was all set to write this big story right when this broke.
A source told me that he was hearing the following:
"If the Sedins don't sign in Vancouver then I have heard it is 90% that they will land in Toronto next season."
According to many of you who emailed me Sedins agent, JP Barry was interviewed on a Vancouver radio station yesterday and stated that the Sedins both wanted long term contracts for 6 or 7 per.
If that is the case then they won't be Canucks and I also can't imagine that they won't be broken up.
Teams can't pay more than 3 or 4 players on their rosters anywhere near that range.
Also I am thrilled to welcome our new Islanders Blogger Kenneth Rosenblatt. He is a great addition for a great fanbase. You can read his first hockeybuzz article here...
