Jordan Leopold rumors are heating up big time and the Sabres are at the forefront of the latest talks...The Sabres are right on the edge here.
The Red Wings have come out and essentially said that they may indeed be forced to be sellers and the word is that they are discussing possibly moving Mikael Samuelsson to either Boston or Ottawa...The Hawks would love him, but that will not happen. The Red Wings are looking to take no money back of course in the deal. Just picks and prospects.
Speaking of the Sens, it looks more and more like they may indeed be buyers here.
On the Jay Bouwmeester front I continue to hear that there is a "very substantial deal on the table" with a team out West, and the Panthers will be trying to beat that deal with other teams as well. The tipping point on Jay Bo is simple: Can the Panthers get back something that is strong enough to keep them in the hunt now and moving forward?
The Blackhawks are rumored to be interested in bringing in Mark Recchi...
The Penguins and Thrashers are still chatting according to sources, and as said yesterday it is uncertain how Malkin and Kovalchuk play into this, but it is fairly certain that they could be discussed. The Pens are also talking to Nashville and Edmonton about a deal that is a "good plan B or 1A."
