I am hearing from multiple sources that ESPN is prepared to take the NHL big games next season, including the Stanley Cup Finals.

Quick Hits...

The following are from sources in the league....

*Rumors are swirling that the Canadiens are targeting Olli Jokinen as a plan B should they fail to land Vinny.

*The Bruins are talking to Colorado more and I could see the Leopold deal getting done very soon.

*The Red Wings are getting close to announcing a deal with Johan Franzen, although it may not make sesnes to announce it until after the deadline.

* The Oilers and Penguins are working on two different deals. On would definitely involve Erik Cole in Pitt. The Sens are in on that as well.

*The Calgary Flames are an interesting possible landing spot for Ryan Smyth, and where there is smoke ther may just really be fire. However, don't rule out completely a return to Edmonton I am told for Smyth.

More to come once I get down to the Wachovia Center.
