Flyers coach John Stevens told me this morning here in Washington not to expect Kimmo Timonen in the lineup tonight against the Caps because he is ill.
It was an optional morning skate where few players were on the ice. Timonen did not mae the trip, suffering from the flu which continues to plague the Flyers.
Ossi Vaananen will replace him in the lineup. Stevens said there was an outside chance Timonen showed up here later today but he wasn't counting on it and given the Flyers have back-to-back games, it makes sense to keep him in Philly and see what his status is for tomorrow against the LA Kings.
Jeff Carter still has some lingering flu but will play, he said at the skate.
