Ok...so there are many more things to discuss.......
Pronger to Boston?
Not according to my sources. There is little doubt that a Pronger trade is being attempted, but frankly the teams that need him really would have to go through hoops to bring him in right now. It is more likely in the summer that Pronger is moved IMO.
Boston, atop of the Conference won't tear the team down to do this. No way. My sources all concur. You need to be careful right now. Since there are so few actual deals going down if one guy goes on the radio and throws out something that sounds specifc, right or wrong, it will show up everywhere.
I always check first. And when I heard the Boston rumors I checked and dismissed it. Could it still happen? Of course. If there is one thing that separates the experienced hockey people from the rookies it is the ability to realize that ANYTHING can happen. Never dismiss it without thought.
If there is a team that can grab him now I would look to Ottawa, Washington or St. Louis.
It will be hard to move Pronger, but they are actively trying...
Jay Bo strategy changing?
This year's deadline has mirrored last year's deadline when it comes to Jacques Martin's dealing with Jokinen then and Jay Bo now. For weeks now the mantra has been that Martin wants young players that can help him now and picks. NO MONEY BACK.
Exactly dead on with what he was saying about Jokinen.
The difference here is that Jokinen was signed and Martin could wait until the draft so he stuck with the demands. Right now, as we sit here Jay Bo is NOT signed and can't be lost for nothing.
I have heard several folks say that they sense a change in Martin's thinking over the past few days. He may be willing to take money back that is expiring (pending UFA's).
Niclas Havelid to Buffalo/ Minnesota
Weren't we all just waiting for him to pop into the rumor Mill? Well he finally has.
Tim Connolly to Columbus (e3)
This is tied to the Sabres getting an impact player from a Western Canadian team
Paulsson to NJ (e3)
He has been battling injuries and mono, but he could be back and the Devils would like to add to their depth...
Gaborik skating and possibly moving
Word is that the Nashville Predators, Montreal Canadiens, and Pittsburgh Penguins are very much intrerested in Gaborik.
more to come...
