Danny Briere won't play Saturday but the good news, he says, is that he did not re-tear his groin but there are adhesions breaking up.

He feels he will return to play next week.

“There’s a big relief this morning; it’s not as bad as we thought,” said Briere, who plans to practice on Saturday but will not play against Nashville. “I had a little workout this morning.

“He said adhesions broke and there is internal bleeding; it’s obviously swollen and that it wasn’t abnormal,” Briere said. “He said everybody’s body reacts to adhesions and surgeries differently.”
