PREVIEW
In the final game of the Flyers' longest homestand of the season, the team will take on the new-look New York Rangers in the front end of a weekend home-and-home set. The Rangers trail the Flyers by four points in the standings. Philly is coming off a decent -- but losing -- effort against the Capitals, while the Rangers came from behind to beat Nashville.
The Rangers new head coach, John Tortorella, has wasted little time in trying to shake up a team that seemed dead in the water a couple weeks ago. Already there have been line changes, benchings and blistering locker room tirades. So far at least, players such as Scott Gomez have responded.
Martin Biron will be back in goal again for the Flyers, making his fourth straight start. Henrik Lundqvist has often struggled in games against the Flyers, while backup Stephen Valiquette seems to have his best games when he faces the orange and black.
As a side note, I wonder how long it will take for Messrs. Carcillo and Avery to start yapping at one another.
