NEW YORK - Milestone day for the Flyers' Jeff Carter here at Madison Square Garden.

This is Carter's 200th consecutive game as a Flyers. Call it a mini Iron Streak.

"If I get hurt today, I'm coming after you guys for bringing it up," Carter told me before the game.

“I don’t want to think about it,” Carter said. “It’s bad karma.”

Roddy Brind'Amour had the longest Flyer streak at 484 games. Jay Bouwmeester has the current streak for the NHL at 333.

“Everybody gets a different strain of the flu and everything reacts differently,” trainer Jim McCrossin said. “He keeps himself in great shape. But he is no different than any other player. Is there a facet of luck in there? I don’t want to jinx him. It’s a great accomplishment."

One thing seems certain. No one from this era is ever going to come close to Doug Jarvis all-time record of 964.
