Mike Babcock accused Sidney Crosby of headhunting this morning.
Sid couldn't believe it, saying he won't get into a war of words with Babs.
"Pretty interesting stuff," Crosby said, among other things about him, Henrik Zetterberg and Kirk Maltby.
Malby suggested to me he's already gotten under Sid's skin even though he only plays an odd shift, here and there against Crosby.
When I asked Crosby about that, he said that hasn't happened and won't.

DETROIT - So a fair question to ask Sunday morning - and one member of the Pittsburgh organization was asking it last night after the 3-1 loss in Game 1 - is why didn't the Penguins come to Detroit sooner to get used to the boards?
They didn't show up until Friday, and didn't actually get on the ice until Saturday morning, hours before game time. You can't get used to the weird board bounces and figure out the set plays the Red Wings use in one morning skate.
“I don’t know how much you can [do about it],” Johan Franzen told me after the game, smiling, and knowing that the Wings enjoy a nice advantage here in this rink. “You can try to take advantage of them. Pucks are going to bounce us. It might work against us the next game. They can watch the video from tonight and know how the boards work.”
I asked Marc-Andre Fleury about the boards. He shrugged his shoulders.
“They got two tonight and it was frustrating,” Fluery said of the bounces. “It’s not going to happen every night.”
Max Talbot told me it was the Penguins need to suck it up and start to do some things themselves off the boards.
“The Red Wing practice here every day and play 41 games a year here,” he said. “They know their boards. It’s not like they were fluke goals. They were aiming for those spots. That’s a set play. We have to be aware of it. The best way to defend against it is to do the same thing on our part. Aim for those parts.”
Now the other question is Sidney Crosby giving Kirk Maltby a two-hander with his stick after the game. Crosby told us that Maltby was "chirping" at the Pens all night. Geez, what a surprise.
“He was giving us lip service and things like that,” Crosby said. “I two-handed him on the top of the foot as they were skating by.
“So, he felt it was necessary to keep talking after the game and I thought I’d whack him. That was it.”
Hopefully, Maltby has something to about this today, because he was not around by the time we got back to the Wings after the game.
We find out at today's morning skate.
