Ran into Danny Briere here at prospect camp. He told me he has spent almost the entire off-season here, training and rehabbing his injured groin.
"I feel really good, I'm excited to be healthy again," Briere said.
To me, that's the best news of the week. A healthy Briere soothes a lot of angst out there in Flyerdom over losing the 50+ goals that Joffrey Lupul and Mike Knuble gave the club last season.

Ya know, Paul Holmgren twice made a point in recent pressers that the club really likes Kevin Marshall as a gritty, hard-nosed d-man, who can hit and has a mean streak despite his 6-foot frame.
Yet I have really been impressed with his fluid skating style, his ability to come out of the back end with the puck and make a quick first-pass through traffic and his shot which is a cannon - he has 2 goals in the scrimmages.
When I spoke to Marshall today about his offensive skills, he was almost embarrassed and kept saying that the FLyers drafted him and want him to be "a gritty guy."
Well, if you ask me, this kid brings more to the table than that.

John Lunden, from Alaska, who was undrafted, threw some tough, hard checks in the scrimmage ... James van Riemsdyk played with Jon Matsomoto and Andreas Nodl. That line was on the ice in the final minute against Marshall's team and Marshall had a a couple of blocks at the net to perserve his team's 2-1 scrimmage victory ...
