Simon Gagne took it easy on the easy and he will gradually increase the pace of his skating. He told me he felt pretty good after today's initial skate.
Gagne wants to be on the ice Sunday with all the Flyers when the full training camp opens.
For more on this, and the rather unusual blood injection Gagne got to stimulate cell growth to his damaged right groin, check out my story on CSNPhilly.com:

Best thing about going over to Skate Zone today to check out the Flyers' rookies and prospects during their testing , was running into Simon Gagne.
He's seem happy, healthy and upbeat.
Gagne told me he plans to test his injured right groin tomorrow on the ice when he skates for the first time since being injured at Team Canada's Olympic Orientation camp in August.
All rookies and prospects hit the ice tomorrow when the early portion of camp opens. The vets report on Saturday but virtually all the FLyers are here.
btw: coach Craig Berube is wearing a boot his left foot. He fractured it running recently. The Chief tells me he will be on ice and on skates, regardless of pain. We'll see ...
Anyway, Gagne shocked me with his new, philosophical approach to injuries now that he is a 10-year NHL veteran.
Here's what he had to say in my story on CSNPhilly.com:
