Dirty hit by Dion Phaneuf on Kyle Okposo. Worthy of a suspension. He left his feet to deliver the hit.
Dion needs to sit some games ...

Simon Gagne plans to play TUE in Philly against Detroit.
Gagne is recovering from a right groin pull suffered at the Olympic Orientation camp in Calgary in late August when he wasn't fully prepared for sprints on the ice after undergoing off-season surgery to that area of his body.
“It’s getting better every day,” Gagne said. “At first we were thinking more like Tuesday, but we’ll see how it feels tomorrow.
“It might be a little bit tight, but I think it’s normal. As training camp has gone, what I felt at that Olympic camp is not even close. It’s a lot better. I don’t feel the pain that I had at that camp. I’m pretty much full speed right now and that’s a good sign.
“I’m feeling very good on the ice, skating hard. Sure it’s a little bit stiff but that’s to be expected. It’s more from the surgery than the injury. Right now we’re thinking to take these first three games off and shoot for Tuesday.”

As I watched last night's 4-0 debacle in London, Ont., on Flyers "home" ice, I could not help but feel the Toronto Maple Leafs looked like the home club.
I never put too much stock into pre-season football and especially, pre-season hockey.
But as I saw the Flyers going through the motions and being outplayed everywhere on the ice and out hit, too, I thought Brian Burke was probably smiling somewhere in that arena. He has retooled the Maple Leafs to be alot like the Flyers or Anaheim.
Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said on radio today in Toronto he was concerned at how uninvolved the Flyers appeared. It was ugly from every standpoint. And embarrassing, too.
When you get to the final 3-4 pre-season games, you should have a good idea of what your club looks like and what you can expect. We'll see next week what the Flyers have to offer but last night wasn't encouraging.
And Dan Carcillo was running around doing just what? Wrecking havoc? Looking for Max Talbot? Is it any wonder he got throw out of the game?
Carcillo's act is not going to play out when you have guys like Blair Betts, Mika Pyorala and James van Riemsdyk, who bring something concrete to the hockey club other than mayhem.

On happier thoughts, I liked what I saw out of Tomas Sinisalo in scrimmages although his best shot is with the Phantoms.
He's not an easy "quote" as they say, but then again, he's not Devils captain Jamie Langenbrunner, who told beat writers this week "I'm not answering your stupid questions."
