If James van Riemsdyk was going to make the Flyers roster, he needed some help in terms of space clearing.

We all knew Andreas Nodl was going to be a callup. I said from the get-go, that Jared Ross would likely get bumped once Blair Betts got here. And given JVR's strong camp, someone had to go down and Ross went down today.

Paul Holmgren sounded a lot like he is keeping JVR on the Flyers when I spoke to him today. Can the Flyers afford both JVR and Betts under the cap? And how tight does it get?

Mark Bell is outa here - among others.

It's going to be v-e-r-y close ... unless they lose a body. Would they deep six Dan Carcillo?

I am reporting on CSNPhilly.com in my blog that among the players missing on the ice today at Flyers' practice ... NO Mark Bell.

Today is cut down day. I assume Bell has been cut only because I don't see him on the ice but I do see Blair Betts, Jason Ward and Mika Pyorala.
