The Flyers have cut down their preseason roster by 19 players. Tryout players Mark Bell and
Adrian Foster have been cut outright. Tryout forward Tomas Sinisalo has been signed to a minor league contract and assigned to the Phantoms.

Among the 18 other players assigned to the Phantoms are forwards: Andreas Nodl, Josh Beaulieu, Rob Bellamy, Matt Clackson, Ryan Dingle, Jonathon Kalinski, Garrett Klotz, and Jonathan Matsumoto; defensemen: Oskars Bartulis, Marc-Andre Bourdon, Joonas Lehtivuori, Kevin Marshall, Mike Ratchuk, David Sloane and Logan Stephenson; and goaltenders: Jeremy Duchesne, Nic Riopel and Michael Teslak.

The eight players returned to their respective junior teams are forwards: David Labrecque (Shawinigan, QMJHL), Zac Rinaldo (London, OHL), Mike Thomas (Saint John, QMJHL) and Eric Wellwood (Windsor, OHL); defensemen Tyler Hostetter (Erie, OHL) and Brennan Yadlowski (Lethbridge, WHL); and goaltenders Adam Morrison (Saskatoon, WHL) and Jacob DeSerres (Seattle, WHL). Hostetter, who was invited to training camp on a try-out basis, was signed to a three-year entry-level contract with the Flyers prior to being returning to the Otters.
