Whenever I hear "lower body" I think ... groin pull, especially, with a goalie ...that is the word from the Flyers.

I asked Flyers' GM Paul Holmgren what changed from FRI to today in deciding to put Randy Jones on waivers.

He replied, "I was under a lot of pressure by the media."

Holmgren still can crack a good one.

He won't be smiling now, though.

Looks like Brian Boucher got hurt here in NJ. He faced 3 shots and gave up one, bad goal in 11:54. Not been a good start for Boosh and this doesn't help.

Here's Holmgren's reaction to Jones in my story on CSNPhilly.com:

Randy Jones was finally waived today.

His price tag to claim him off waivers if $15,000.

Will the Rangers collect him? Or hopes he clears and then see if they can coax the Flyers to send him through re-entry from the Phantoms?

It should play out by Monday.
