RALEIGH _ This won't come as a surprise to Flyer fans, but Arron Asham will be a sratch tonight against the Canes.

With the additions of Dan Carcillo, last last year, and now Ian Laperriere, you have 2 more similar players. Blair Betts is centering the two on the fourth line tonight.

Asham took it in stride but let's recall he did not miss any games last year other than 4 because of injury.

“I knew coming in that my job was not secure and I had to earn it,” Asham told me this morning for CSNPhilly.com. “Right now, I’m one of the extras, it’s part of the game. I’m a team guy. As long as we get wins, I’m good with this. We’ll get this train rolling and I’ll find myself back in the lineup soon.”

Riley Cote is also a scratch.
