Asham Promoted; Giroux Bounced |

The Flyers have lost 3 straight and can just as easily lose 3 more and win 3 in a row this week, giving their scoring problems and inability to hold leads.
You knew there were going to be changes Monday at practice and there were. The shocker is that Claude Giroux, who I think had played very, very well with Mike Richards and Simon Gagne (no goals), is off the first line and Arron Asham is on it.
Asham is a worker guy who can set Gagne up but coach John Stevens said the logic of moving Giroux off Richards' line and placing him between James van Riemsdyk and Ian Laperriere is to give him the same look he had to start the season: Richards, Jeff Carter and Giroux down the middle.
“We had three lines before that could all score and even a fourth line that could chip in and we just like the feel of it better," Stevens told me when I asked if this was more about getting Gagne going.
"I think Claude does good things with Richie and Gags, but I like him in the middle of the ice. He gets the puck more. He’s a dynamic player in open ice. He’s a play-maker and Richie is a play-maker. It seems like they were trying to pass the puck into the net instead of shooting the puck …”
