Do the Flyers have a Jimmy Rollins?
A Ryan Howard? A Jayson Werth?
I think they do but ...
When the going gets tough, the Flyers, lately, have disappeared.
My theory today in the dressing room _ it was not appreciated by team captain Mike Richards or coach John Stevens _ was that the Flyers, at this moment, do NOT have a clutch guy, a "hero" or a Rollins and that's one reason why they succumbed to the Florida Panthers last week and also why they are on a 3-game losing skid.
When the games were on the line, the Flyers came up feeble. The Phillies are showing people they don't come up lame when it counts. Yeah, it's 6 games into the NHL schedule, but some things seem familiar from last season and they need to change. Right now.
The reaction varied among a few players, although I sensed the Flyers really do appreciate the "comeback" quality of the Phillies. They should. It's a huge reason why the Phils won a World Series last season.
My story on CSNPhilly.com says the Flyers better find a "hero" or someone to deliver in the clutch this week after yet another looong layoff or that 3-game skid could balloon to 6 games.
I apologize for the link but my Alienware computer is in the shop and I'm not very good at this stuff and my attempts to link properly have failed miserably. Here's the web address:
