Simon Gagne's surgery went well this morning at Hahnemann.

He'll miss 6-8 weeks _ I am betting on the latter, there.

Here is the club's statement:

“Simon Gagne had successful surgery done this morning by Dr. William Meyers at Hahnemann University Hospital. The surgery was to repair tears in Simon’s abdominal wall as well as repair a small hernia near his umbilicus (belly button). Simon will begin rehab in a few days and is expected to be out of the line-up for 6 – 8 weeks.”

The guy replacing Gagne in the lineup is rookie David Laliberte. I took a closer look at him today on CSNPhilly.com.

Trivia: Can you name the only other NHL player besides Laliberte born in St-Jean-Sur-Richelieu? Think of it before you read my story which gives the answer.
