Greetings from the Orlando airport for the annual family jaunt to the in-laws.

I just landed and went through my texts and two sources, from different ends of the continent have told me that they are hearing that the Oilers are putting a huge package together to try and draw either Alexander Semin or Ilya Kovalchuk to Edmonton. The package would be some serious picks, prospects and 2 top six forwards.

On Kovalchuk I have heard that to this point Don Waddell wants nothing to do with any offers and while people have called they have essentially been told to not bother. For now. That could and will change if no deal is done soon.

On Semin, the money Washington hopes to get back for Nylander will have to go a long way and Backstrom is priority #1 with Semin being #2.

I will have more this afternoon including a blog I worked on in flight (No wifi yet for US Air!)

I am working on another Chicago/Toronto rumour, Boston/Minnesota as well as a Dallas/NJ Rumor. Also I am hearing that the Keith deal is monumental in years. There is no doubt that Thanksgiving in America is the beginning of trade deadline rumors. I am getting 40% more info these past few days than I have been getting all fall.

At this point I am simply trying to discern what is speculation and what are real discussions...
