PREVIEW (11:30 AM)
The Flyers (12-7-1) will look to get back on the winning track tonight when they take on the Northwest Division leading Colorado Avalanche (13-7-3) in Denver. The Flyers played a fatigued, listless game on Saturday and ended up losing their second game in a row.
During the Flyers' stretch of winning seven of eight games, the club was able to roll all four lines on a regular basis. That's no longer the case with the injuries to Blair Betts, Darroll Powe and Arron Asham. It will be crucial for Mike Richards and Jeff Carter in particular to start stepping up their games. In addition, the Flyers' special teams have gone AWOL after being a club strength in the first month of the season.
Colorado has come down to earth a little bit after a sensational start to the season. For the first month of the season, goalie Craig Anderson was stealing games left and right and the Avs always seemed to come up with clutch goals. Things have been a bit tougher in the last few weeks, but whenever the Avs have seemed on the brink of a losing skid, they've cranked out strong performances. They are also the more rested club coming into the game.
