We're about to see what the Flyers are made of between now and the beginning of the New Year with 4 forwards out of the lineup with serious injuries.

General manger Paul Holmgren told me today he expects the veterans to pick it up and raise the bar here because this team is now going to put a minor league line on the ice on every night for the foreseeable future.

Chris Pronger was more direct with me:

"It’s gut check time," he said. "Go look in the mirror and play better.”
