MINI-PREVIEW (9:15 AM)
Fresh off a much-needed comeback victory over the Boston Bruins, the Flyers (15-15-1) have no time to congratulate themselves. Tonight, the Flyers embark on the road half of a home-and-home set with the defending Stanley Cup champion Penguins (22-10-1).
The Flyers competed hard last night and were rewarded with the win. The club will need a similar defensive effort tonight to contain one of the league's most potent attacks. In addition, Philadelphia's moribund power play needs to get back on track if the club is to have a realistic shot of at least splitting the two games with the Pens.
After dealing with a host of injuries, the Penguins finally have their regular lineup back intact. Philadelphia, on the other hand, is still without several key players but are getting close to seeing Blair Betts, Darroll Powe and Simon Gagne return. Braydon Coburn remains day-to-day with a sprained right ankle.
A full-length preview (written prior to last night's game against Boston), along with Penguins blogger Brian Metzer's take on tonight's game from the Pittsburgh side, will run today on
