EDMONTON _ I think Ray Emery has played very well this season and shown he deserves to be back in the NHL.

I think he has earned a contract extension.

However, we still have a couple months of hockey left and the playoffs and I want to see how Emery does in both.

Which is why I would wait until the summer to make a decision on re-signing him.

The FLyers, however, are going to open negotiations with Emery's agent, J.P. Barry, after the trade deadline, as I reported tonight on CSNPhilly.com.
