PREVIEW (7:30 AM)
With losses in their last two games, it's crucial for the Flyers to get back on the winning track in their fourth game of the post-Olympic stretch drive. Tonight, they return home to play the woeful Toronto Maple Leafs, who have already won a game against the Flyers this season (an ugly 4-0 shutout). Tonight's tilt is the third of four meetings and marks the start of a four-game homestand.
Flyers center Mike Richards has six points in the three games since returning from the Oympics. Meanwhile, Jeff Carter has six points in five games and Simon Gagne has three goals and four points since the break.
At least on paper, this is a game where the Flyers should have a substantial edge if there's a lot of special teams play. Toronto's penalty killing has been awful this season, posting a putrid 72.2% success rate. Meanwhile, the Leafs have connected on only 15.9% of their power plays. The Flyers scored three power play goals against the Leafs in Philly's 6-2 win on Jan. 6. All six goals Toronto has scored in the two meetings this season have come at even strength.
