What's Become of Hartnell? |

Yeah, Scott Hartnell misses Scottie Uphall.
And Joffrey Lupul, too.
Hartnell ain't got no mojo. There's no glide to his stride, no dip to his hip. The swagger is gone.
From 30-goal breakout year in '08-09 to bust this season. The Flyers winger is truly a ghost of his former self.
You watch against Toronto and frankly, it was one of his worst games of the year. He just looks lost on the ice. Nothing is going right for the big guy, on or off the ice.
“It hasn’t been the year I dreamt of,” he told me today. “But we’re winning, we’re in the playoffs, we’re rolling right now as a team. If I’m not scoring, I try to work on other aspects of my game.
“Getting in and winning puck battles and making room for Carts [Jeff Carter] and Danny [Briere] and hopefully, the goals will come. Hopefully, it’s a matter of time. It’s a little frustrating, for sure.”
Ville Leino did more subbing on Hartnell's line against Buffalo than Hartnell has done in his last three games in which he's been -5.
It remains to be seen whether coach Peter Laviolette sticks with Hartnell on Carter's line with Briere on TUE when the Flyers host the Isles on VERSUS - and who in their right mind came up with that game for a national audience?
Anyway, here's Hartnell and Craig Berube's take on the sorry state of affairs right now as per my story on CSNPhilly.com:
