MINI-PREVIEW (3 AM)

The Flyers need at least a split in the home-and-home series with the Rangers this weekend to assure themselves of a spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs. While it is not yet official whether Jeff Carter will be able to play, I suspect he will.

Apart from Marian Gaborik, the Flyers will have pay special attention to ex-Flyer Vaclav Prospal. Vinny has often hurt the Flyers over the course of his career; in fact, he leads all Rangers with 15 career goals (in 40 games) against Philly. This season, Chris Drury leads the Rangers with three points (one goal and two assists) in the four games played against the Flyers so far. The Flyers also shut out the Blueshirts twice this season.

In conjunction with Versus.com, HB's Rangers blogger Jan Levine and I have posted game previews on the Versus site.
