MINI-PREVIEW (8:45 AM)
The Flyers will look to start climbing back into their series with the Boston Bruins when the scene shifts to the Wachovia Center tonight. By virtue of digging themselves an 0-2 hole, Philly faces a situation of having to win the next three straight games in order to gain the upper hand in the series.
The first two games have been evenly contested for the most part but the results of the first two games rightly reflect which club has been a little bit better. The Flyers have spent too much time playing catch-up hockey, which they've done remarkably well for a team that struggled in that department all season. But playing from behind is a losing proposition. In conjunction with having to kill a pair of third-period penalties on Monday night, the Flyers wound up losing steam in the third period and ultimately gave up the game-winning goal late in regulation.
The same keys to winning that applied to the first two games also apply tonight: The Flyers need to get their forecheck established early, cut down on some of the bad penalties, get some scoring from players who have yet to contribute in the playoffs and find a way to play with the lead.
