Mark Everson Today suggests there is a mystery team in on Kovalchuk...a team that no one has suggested. So let me suggest all the teams I have heard... As far as I can tell the longshot teams are still NY Rangers, Toronto, Philadelphia, Ottawa, St. Louis, NY Islanders and Anaheim...I have heard the minor rumblings of one year deals in Pittsburgh, Washington, Detroit, and Dallas. And I heard rumors of Atlanta still getting into this, but I have been assured Atlanta is not in this. No way, No how.

On Kaberle...

Brian Burke is officially taking a few weeks, and what I have been told is the teams who are interested know what it will take and now can consider their options. The Kovalchuk saga will likely have to end first. That much we know. I also am under the impression, from sources, Burke may indeed have a deal he likes, doesn't love, but likes...essentially, a "deal to beat."

On Spezza...

Yes, I have heard Spezza is not being traded, yet I also know that two teams, the Kings and Rangers, have money and are in need of a PR hit, and are likely to get shut out of the Kovalchuk sweeps. Both teams are interested in Spezza and have been for quite some time.

There is one particular source, who maintains the Flames and Senators are still waiting on a possible Spezza for Langkow and Reghr deal. Also rumblings of the Blues...

On David Perron...

The Sabres have interest in David Perron, RFA from Blues...Not an offer sheet, but via trade...The Blues like a prospect I was told, and also have interest in Paul Gaustad. Gaustad is integral to that room in Buffalo and I would be shocked to see him moved.

On Pavol Demitra...

I have heard an offer from the KHL was being strongly considered, but I am also hearing the Blues could bring back Demitra for less than you'd think to play a lesser role than he once did, but still Demitra's days in St. Louis were his heyday.

On Gagne...

Nothing new to report. From what I am hearing it sounds like the Flyers are "waiting on something else" to happen before moving Gagne. Not sure whether this is tied to Kovalchuk (directly or indirectly) but it sounds like we will know more tomorrow or Tuesday. Still a chance Gagne goes nowhere..

More to come tonight...I am off to Sesame Place with the Kids. (A Sesame Street themed waterpark in Langhorne, PA)....I will have my phone with my and be checking texts, updating here and twitter should news break...seeing what Elmo knows about the Kovalchuk situations, talking to the Count about the validity of the KHL deals, and seeing if Big Bird and Don Saleski really do have something in common...but besides that...Pray for me! :)
