UPDATED: New Job for Cote |

No one will ever confuse the magic in Simon Gagne's to what Riley Cote had for hands, but the two ex-Flyers share 3 things in common:
1- they exuded class
2- they were gentlemen off the ice
3- they were always the first, two players to get asked for appearances and charity.
Really, good teammates. People don't always see that. Even though Cote was playing last year - only 7 games under Peter Laviolette - he was there for every practice, and available for every appearance the Flyers asked of him.
He was really well-liked by the players as a "standup" guy even though everyone recognized he was no longer capable to handling the NHL heavies on a nightly basis.

As most of us presumed would happen once the Flyers signed Jody Shelley, there would be an impact on Riley Cote.
The former Phantoms/Flyers enforcer has retired and has been named an assistant coach of the Phantoms.
