Random Notes - The dog days of summer are here. Not much news from around the hockey world, but I did find a few interesting nuggets.

- Congratulations and thank you to the Hockey News. Pred Nation considers it a good luck charm when they predict their team out of the playoffs… as they have done for the past three seasons. I appreciate their “never underestimate the Predators” comment… as they underestimate the team… again.

- The NCAA vs. Juniors debate is heating up as an exodus of players are leaving college to play Juniors or sign entry level contracts in the NHL. An issue that need some examination, something I will tackle in an upcoming blog.

- Pred sightings are growing as the team begins to return to Nashville in preparation for the season. Those players with school age children have already returned for the beginning of school last week.

- Off-Topic… I’m not a big golf on TV fan, but yesterday’s bizarre finish to the PGA Championship was crazy… and I thought hockey used replay in creative and bizarre ways.

- 54 days to Opening Night!! Summer sucks… Drop the Puck!
