Bill Guerin, his agent, and Paul Holmgren are
downplaying the notion that there's anything is in the works between the two sides, despite the fact that he skated in Flyers attire at the club's practice rink. Even so, I wouldn't be shocked if Guerin were to wind up in Philadelphia.
Guerin could be a good fit for the Flyers even at age 39. He still has some scoring pop left, adds some muscle and toughness and, of course, his previous Stanley Cup rings can only help the cause.
He is still a top-nine forward in the NHL and, in my opinion, would be a fine complement for Claude Giroux and James Van Riemsdyk. He could also move up in the lineup as needed.

Tomorrow, I will post the final installment of the Flyers' player of the decade series for the
1999-2000 to 2009-10 time period. The blog will look at the team's best defensemen.
Last week in Chelyabinsk, Russia, the Traktor Chelyabinsk organization held its annual preseason mini-tournament dedicated to the memory of late Traktor and Flyers defenseman Dmitri Tertyshny. This week's

looks back at Tertyshny's promising career that came to a tragic end in a boating accident that killed the 22-year-old.
