Leighton Injury Draws Different Responses |

The lower back issues with Flyers' goalie Michael Leighton is 3-alarm bells for me, given the history of this injury, in general, with players.
Paul Holmgren said he isn't worried but he didn't convince a single person at his mini=presser that this was just a ho-hum issued like a charley horse.
In fact, read between the lines of what Flyers coach Peter Laviolette had to say and he seems a tad more concerned than the GM. Which means, Holmgren is putting up a brave face and hoping that Leighton is better by week's end.
The intrigue here is what happens with "Bob" = Sergei Bobrovsky. Holmgren said he's not ready for the roster. Goalie coach Jeff Reese says he might not be 100 percent ready for the NHL, but if he's the second guy coming out of camp, he's ready and he'll have to be on the roster.
The quotes, taken in separate interviews over a 90-minute span today, show the various levels of agreement and disagreement within the Flyers on the Leighton/'Bobrovsky issue.
We've seen numerous occasions when a bad back or sore groin was supposed to be a minor thing and it turns into something much worse for the Flyers.
One positive: the MRI was negative.
