Game Night at last! The Nashville Predators drop the puck on the 2010/2011 campaign tonight with a showdown against an embarrassed Anaheim Ducks team. Why embarrassed? Because the Ducks got completely hammered by the Detroit Red Wings 4-0 and they looked awful doing it.
The Predators start the season with a bang and a party… things get going with a party on the plaza starting at around 3:30. I’ll be the Master of ceremonies for the Red Carpet event and Gnash’s special door opening. There will be food, fun, and drinks so come on out early! Doors will open at 5:30. We will also have our pregame ceremonies including the introduction of the entire team and a special new opening video that you will not want to miss.
The Predators come into 2010/2011 with some expectations and a chip on their shoulder. To a man, this team has a focus on making sure they not only make the playoffs, but do some damage once they get there… and they are using last year’s game 5 disaster as fuel. On to the game itself… The Predators are listing two players on IR, Jamie Lundmark and Sergei Kostitsyn, the Ducks list Jason Jaffray, Joffrey Lupul, and Toni Lydman as out tonight, Andy Sutton is questionable after going down in last night’s game.
It is important for the Predators to get off to a good start, October features six of their first ten games at home including four games against divisional foes. It all gets going tonight at 7pm. Game coverage on 102.9 the Buzz (pregame at 6:30pm) and on Fox Sports Tennessee. Unfortunately, DISH Network customers are being held hostage as their battle with Fox Sports has caused FS Tennessee to be pulled from their channel lineup.
See you tonight at the Bridge!
